(Not Really) Misheard Lyrics, Vol 4

Here’s another song for which I have substituted my own superior lyrics.

The song is “The Best Is Yet To Come”, and was written by Cole Porter. I’m sure many people have recorded it, but the version I’m most familiar with was recorded by Frank Sinatra.

I only sing my special version of this song when I am having a really bad day, so if you hear me doing it, you may want to steer clear.

Frank Sinatra – “The Best Is Yet To Come”
What I Sing
The best is yet to come, you dirty motherf*ckers

Actual Lyrics
The best is yet to come, and won’t that be fine

  1. My favorite (not really) misheard lyrics are to that lame Boston song, “Amanda”:

I’m gonna take you by surprise
And shoot you ‘tween the eyes
    Commando!
I’m gonna kill you right away,
    I can’t wait another day,
    Commando!
You’re gonna take it like a man
    I’ll make you understand
    Commando!
    I’ll kill you…. ding!

  2. how twisted am i? i’m singing your new version of the Frank Sinatra song in the voice of the ‘gonads and strife’ squirrel.

    wheeeee!

  3. This girl I knew in college used to always sing “This is How We Do It” as “This is how we do it, Marty.” I have no idea where the Marty came from.

I make up lyrics all the time. One of life’s little pleasures.

  4. i like your lyrics better
    here are some more

Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine…
    But I misheard them as:

Dancing Queen, eat a bean off the tambourine..

  5. That made me laugh for a good minute. There’s a number of songs where I have either misheard the lyrics or made up alternate ones. Good times.
