Mr. Miller, you are twisting the rules! I actually featured The Blow in a recent WICH post, where there was a surprising amount of hostility to the photo I posted. I listened to some of their music on their MySpace page when I picked them for WICH, and thought it was pretty good stuff.
Since no one else has mentioned it, I’ll do another song title:
Ryan Adams – Jesus (Don’t Touch My Baby)
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – Let Me Up (I’ve Had Enough)
Oasis – (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
Oh, I thought you said album titles with parentheses. I cannot read.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – A Woman in Love (It’s not me)
Super Furry Animals – (A) Touch Sensitive
Manic Street Preachers – La Tristessa Durera (Scream to a Sigh)
Falwless – The first one still works, it’s a song on the album.
Simon and Garfunkel:
The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)
A Simple Desultory Philippic (or How I Was Robert McNamara’d Into Submission)
El Condor Pasa (If I Could)
Don’t You (Forget about Me), Simple Minds.
“You Don’t Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You’re Told)” – White Stripes
Damn – I thought it was just Country songs…
The one’s with the parentheses at the begging always are at the begging of any songlist on my iPod.
Might I suggest the song “Parentheses” by The Blow? It’s a great song by a great band/singer. Although it actually lacks parentheses in the title.
Lionel Richie – All Night Long (All Night)
Aerosmith – Dude (Looks Like a Lady)
Hall & Oates – I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)
Flock of Seagulls – I Ran (So Far Away)
(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) – Beastie Boys
The Beatles- Money (That’s What I Want)
Ween- Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down)
The White Stripes- Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)
The White Stripes love them some parentheses . . .
You’re Pretty Good Looking (For A Girl)
Death Letter (Son House)
I’m Lonely (But I Ain’t That Lonely Yet)
U2 – Pride (In the Name of Love)
hee hee
Slipping (Into Something) – The Feelies
(From the) Morning Glories – The Trypes
Slipping (Into Something) – The Feelies
(From the) Morning Glories – The Trypes
Yayyyyyyy 🙂
Beatles
Anna (Go to Him)
Rolling Stones
Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)
Led Zeppelin
Living Loving Maid (She’s Just a Woman)
