A<\/span>hhh.<\/p>\n

V<\/span>acation. For my family, but not for me, unfortunately.
E<\/span>very student and teacher looks forward to the
r<\/span>eturn of warm weather, because it signifies that the school
y<\/span>ear is at an end.<\/p>\n

S<\/span>o, what then? Should I be like everyone
e<\/span>lse in the workforce, working summer months? Or
c<\/span>ould I make it as a teacher? Could I shoulder the
r<\/span>esponsibility of attempting to impart knowledge to
e<\/span>ager minds, or minds eager to do anything but
t<\/span>ests and quizzes?<\/p>\n

M<\/span>y mother was a teacher, giving junior high kids an art
e<\/span>ducation. But I can’t teach art. I’d like to teach
m<\/span>agic, or trickery, scavenger hunts, puzzles with
e<\/span>laborate clues. But can I find a job that pays me for that?<\/p>\n

L<\/span>et’s say that I would turn out to be good teacher,
o<\/span>r that I was passable. Let’s say I taught puzzles, or tricks
o<\/span>f language. The problem would be the next class.
K<\/span>ids taking my class would have the answers to my questions.<\/p>\n

R<\/span>eturning students could simply pass these questions, which
I<\/span> labored over, to the next batch of students. It wouldn’t be
G<\/span>eography or Math, which is something relatively fixed, and
h<\/span>aving relatively firm rules to base my teaching on. But
t<\/span>eaching tricks? Perhaps they’re better done for fun.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
