{"id":1714,"date":"2007-07-11T04:09:00","date_gmt":"2007-07-11T04:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/isplotchy.com\/blog\/?p=1714"},"modified":"2013-05-04T01:50:53","modified_gmt":"2013-05-04T01:50:53","slug":"i-see-your-go-gos-and-raise-you-some-ex-specials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/isplotchy.com\/blog\/2007\/07\/i-see-your-go-gos-and-raise-you-some-ex-specials\/","title":{"rendered":"I See Your Go-Go&#8217;s, And Raise You Some Ex-Specials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Simian blogger Dr. Zaius recently posted of <a href=\"http:\/\/zaiusnation.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/go-gos-they-got-beat.html\">his love for  the Go-Go&#8217;s<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A while back I posted a video of <a href=\"http:\/\/isplotchy.com\/blog\/2007\/06\/i-love-1979-vol-1.html\">a song I love by The Specials<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After The Specials&#8217; second album More Specials, singer Terry Hall, along with bandmates Neville Staples and Lynval Golding, left the group to form the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fun_Boy_Three\">Fun Boy Three<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Terry and Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Go&#8217;s cowrote the song &#8220;Our Lips Are Sealed&#8221;.  Both The Go-Go&#8217;s and Fun Boy Three recorded their own version of this song, though perhaps you are only familiar with The Go-Go&#8217;s version.<\/p>\n<p>The Fun Boy Three version definitely has a different vibe going on, something more reminiscent of Simple Minds&#8217; &#8220;Don&#8217;t You Forget About Me&#8221; &#8212; it&#8217;s not nearly as cheery as the more popular version.<\/p>\n<p>I do really like The Go-Go&#8217;s, but I genuinely like Fun Boy Three&#8217;s version better.<\/p>\n<p>But, judge for yourself, why don&#8217;tcha?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Simian blogger Dr. Zaius recently posted of his love for the Go-Go&#8217;s.
