Why?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I swear, sometimes these posts write themselves.<\/p>\n<p>So, I&#8217;m walking back to work on Harrison Street after lunch today in near-downtown Chicago, when I spot a large billboard advertising for the western suburb of Berwyn, y&#8217;know, to get people excited about living, working, playing there.<\/p>\n<p>This is the slogan for their new ad campaign &#8212; &#8220;Why Berywn?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not an ad man.  I know very little about marketing and public relations.  <\/p>\n<p>One thing I do know, however, is that if you are marketing something, whether it be a new toothpaste, or a suburb that is poked fun of mercilessly by a <a href=\"http:\/\/usersites.horrorfind.com\/home\/horror\/svengoolie\/koz.html\">local TV personality<\/a>, is that you don&#8217;t just have the name of the product preceded by &#8220;Why&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>If the advertiser has to ask you, the consumer, &#8220;Why [my product]?&#8221; there is something seriously wrong going on with the product they are selling.<\/p>\n<p>Do they have a website?  Why, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whyberwyn.com\/\">yes they do<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>But why visit it?  Why?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I swear, sometimes these posts write themselves.
